HM-7

LH2-LOX Rocket Engine

The cryogenic HM-7 engine was based on the HM4 test engine developed by SEPR for the Europa rocket. It flew on the Ariane 1 H8 third stage.

It was further developed by SEP into the HM-7B which flew on the H10 third stage for Ariane 2, 3 and 4. Ariane 5 ECA used the engine on its ECS-A (Étage Supérieur Cryotechnique) second stage. On Ariane 6 it will be replaced by the Vinci engine.
